SH3 1.4 re-install problem

hoping for some help.
i loaded a beta add-on mod (didn't know it was til after i installed it

) and started having serious glitches to SH3/GWX2.

Uninstalled and deleted everything i thought and re-installed the stock SH3 1.4.
went to try it and i get the 2 brief intro movies....but i get a blank screen after that.
during what i suppose is the green SH3 load-screen its black with the cursor arrow. then i lose the cursor arrow. i hear the music during what sounds like plays for the first of the gameplay pages. but no video.
do i still have something somewhere corrupting the re-install?
