External Camera

I selected to have the external camera on before selecting a career in the options menu. I'm playing TM with RSRD and selected "Hard" as the game level while setting up the career. Once on patrol, no external camera. I go back to the options screen and the gameplay options are not available. Is there a way to turn the external camera on now that I've started the mission?

Because it messes with .cfg files I would recommend being in port when changing the following in the Trigger Mod. Make sure you de-activate Trigger, change the file in Trigger, than re-activate.

The easiest way is to open the /data/cfg/commands.cfg in tmaru. Search for " [Cmd50] " Your looking for these two blocks:

[Cmd50]
Name=Camera_on_next_unit
Ctxt=1
;Key0=0xBE,,">"
Page=0x34000000,3714

[Cmd51]
Name=Camera_on_prev_unit
Ctxt=1
;Key0=0xBC,,"<"
Page=0x34000000,3714

Simply remove the semicolon placed in front of the key assignment, and you have the next/previous cameras back .

Will that give me the free camera (F12) or just the next and previous units? I can't get the F12 key to work or the free camera button to work (located with the radio, gramaphone, etc).

To be honest the only stuff I have ever messed with in Trigger is the above, I have always had access to the F12 option, not sure what your problem may be. Someone else may have more to add.

Are you sure you don't have it disabled elsewhere? The standarg TM install offers the F12 view.

I think Ducimus has his own custom TM download available which disables the F12 view.
