Question about mission objectives TM1.7
Hi all,
When I get a mission objective, I get an additional order to radio in a 00:01 every day. Is this really necessary?? What are the consequences if I dont radio in?? Also, does using time compression make you miss any juicy targets at all?? I use time compression quite a bit but am beginning to think that I may be missing some nice targets or convoys?? |

No, not necessary. I ignore it. The only time I do is when I get tonnage or if I sight a Task Force. When my alloted time is up within the confines of the area I get a new location to go to. At the end of two patrols, if I don't get targets then the message tells me to patrol the area at my discretion. If I run out of torps they tell be to get back to base. TC do not miss. I went 1024 and the pop up message asking me for what actions to take. This goes for surface and air threats.

Thats kind of what I figured.
Do you have any tips for setting up the correct sort of waypoints to find the most targets? Or do you just plot a randoms course?? |

I looked up online for any shipping lane maps during WW2 in the Pacific to get an idea. You can do the same. Or when I first started I made patterns up myself to cover the greatest surface area in the least amount of time. I think the sub war was a touch and go business until the Japanese code was broken. In fact the last two patrols turned up nil. What I do is sneak into the closest enemy harbors (ones without DD patrols of course) and sink tonnage to my delight. But targets or no targets I just fancy this sim.

Agree with you entirely mate.
I like sneaking into a port (with a DD just for the excitement) and getting my kicks in there!! Like you said though, even with no contacts, I still enjoy it!! There nothing like sneaking around, hunting targets!! Its kicks ass!!! ![]() |
