Lost my first boat.

Raiding some obscure port in the Solomon's on my ninth patrol and tried to escape to open seas via a narrow, shallow passage. Unfortunately my boat bottomed out before I realized what was happening, and I was blasted by shore batteries as I tried to surface. R.I.P., USS Drum. Ah well, this gives me an excuse to start a new career and try Trigger Maru.

Sorry to hear that...but you are undoubtedly right.

BTW - by the title of the post...I thought somehow you had 'lost' your boat and was going to come back with a joking remark about having a string running between you and the periscope but unfortunately, I was not able to do that
