Silly question

Hi,

Just finished my first patrol (using TM and RSRD).
When i docked at pearl i got this message which said i was selected to give lessons to new cadets, that would have ended my career so i didn't choose it.
But now i'm curious , what happens if you do choose this?
Your carreers just stops or what?

No, no, no, that wasn't pink!
It was red but after one patrol it was a bit pale because of the salt water, poor quality, i tell you!!!
