Running out of batteries and oxygen my only choice is the surface
Before surfacing take a periscope look and a dammed destroyer comming towards me at 500 meters and full speed made me think the ending was near, but the ship damaged my conning tower an sunk itself !!! Only bad luck or it is the current AI behavior ?? ![]()

It's the AI mixed with far too little damage points they have in the stock game. You can set it by yourself or try some of the supermods, it won't happen again

![]() ![]() I can't find it now, but I remember someone "enhanced" a Bismarck some time ago and turned it to U-Bismarck... That was awesome. There should be a video somewhere there, with the ship surfacing and opening fire. It was about a year ago, when some of us hoped to make other ships, not only subs, playable. Or is it my memory only playing tricks with me? :hmm:

I had the same thing happen this morning - rammed by an escort I didn't see coming - destroyed both periscopes, radio antenna and flak gun on my VIIB.
I had to limp back to port with 12 torpedos remaining. Worst of all, the escort sank from the ramming, but I didn't get credit for the "kill". I guess destroyer suicide doesn't count! ![]()

I got run over by a DD in the Scapa Flow mission the other day. He wiped out my deck gun, but apparently lost his engines in the process. He didn't sink, but he didn't give me any more trouble either. A lucky shot with a magnetic trigger took the stern off of the other nearby DD so I got away without too much trouble. The annoying part was that the Revenge just settled on the shallow bottom without going under so I only got credit for 1000t.
