Default TM or RFB?

Hi everyone,

I know this question has been posted before, but can someone explain to me the difference between RFB and TM?
If i understand right TM add's more difficulty and some buttons on the dial-bars (and much more offcourse) and RFB is more historicaly accurate, am i right?

But what mod uses the majority around here?
In other words: what is more fun of what mod's gives the game more "value"?
Now i use TM and i like it but i'm getting a bit curious about RFB.
Should i use it with RSRD?

Thanks very much,
fvd

When 1.4 came out I was really interested in RFB. Then, I saw that TM was ready and after reading the readme, I installed it along with RSRDC. I think that they are still working a few issues with RFB, but I haven't been to that thread in two weeks.

RFB works just fine with 1.4. The work being done on RFB is ADDING more goodies. RFB strives for 100% historical play and accuracy. TM is a mix of accuracy and playability. Both get praises Use RSRD with both and ROW is a excellent mod to put in as well.

As AVG mentioned try em' both, they are both well done

I have used TM since back when it was FTT, it is a great one. I have ROW installed with it and have also used the RSRD TM version with it as well.

Run both if you like and vanilla too... have multiple installations depending on your mood. lol

I use Potoroo's outstanding MultiSH4 (it is 1.4 compatible)

All it took for me was to read the Readme. Very easy to use.

Happy Hunting!

That pretty much sums it up. If i was aiming for 100% accuracy, every rivet in its place, i may as well have tossed in the towel, and asked to sign on to work on RFB.

Id say TM is 75% historical accuracy, 25% playablity, and 100% more difficult. (im guessing on the difficulty part, but i know it increaseses the difficulty level more then any mod). I should probably note that some of my tweaks are to encourage realistic behavior on the part of the player by somewhat abstract means.

Both RFB and TM have their places, and i think its great that people have a choice.

It should be there if you follow the steps.

Start with "2. Using MultiSH4 (multiple installations of SH4)" in his Readme: (be sure to read the readme and start with a fresh SH4 install) then follow the steps.

Quote:
2. Using MultiSH4 (multiple installations of SH4)

It is recommended you begin with a clean installation of SH4, patched to 1.4. If you wish to use JSGME, install it in the stock game folder, run it and generate a snapshot of the game files before proceeding. Do not install any mods at this stage.

1. Create a new installation of SH4 by copying the whole folder and everything underneath it to a new location........
