I installed TM first followed by all the ROW mods. I have had no problems at all.

I install ROW then RFB. I believe it will not make much of a difference in the order they go in as ROW works with files that TM does not. They play nice together.

I always put in ROW first underneath either tm or rfb.

Default Aye, there's the rub...

the comments above got me wondering. I know I'm stating the fairly obvious here but bear with me.

If you install ROW first then TM you'll get a prompt asking about overwriting certain files, correct? (i.e. the popup says something like "ROW has already modified these files do you wish to continue?..." or something to that effect).

If you install TM first then ROW you'll get a prompt asking about overwriting certain files aswell, correct?

All that to say that the order becomes very important depending on the end result you're trying to achieve. For example, say both ROW and TM make mods to file 'X' which affects the look of waves. ROW makes a much better mod to the file than TM and results in a beautifully realistic wave. IF ROW, however, is installed first then TM then file X will get the TM changes over top of the ROW changes basically cancelling out the ROW influence (I'm not picking on ROW or TM, they're just handy titles).

Is my logic correct here?

You have to install TM first, then ROW as TM changes some of the same texture files that ROW changes. If you want to install the 1.7.5 beta patch that Duci has released then install it last after ROW.

Well that's the way i do it anywho

@Tomoose,

Correct, whatever file load next in line will change the files of the previous mod installed if those files have been changed. For example, if I install ROW then RFB, RFB changes the size of the sun as compared to the sun in ROW. Of course I can load ROW after RFB if I like the ROW sun size better. The are just textures. You need to look for changes in files like AI sensors. These are the files that affect game play.

Guys,

Is anyone using the ROW Sub Reflections file with TM....? I thought that one was a no-no...it does want to over write a bunch of stuff from TM.

G'day Wilcke, I do mate and it seems to be working fine, I run TM 1.7.5 RSRDC for TM and all the ROW 1.4 compat files, textures first followed by ship and sub reflections, zone mod etc etc, no problems at all so far this end.

See item number 19 in TM's FAQ. Other then that, doesnt matter what order you install ROW and TM.

If you install the particular ROW modlet over TM that i annotated on faq item number 19, what will happen is you'll get stock sub specs, and all that entails. low batteries, slower dive times, shallow crush depth, etc etc.

Theres a reason why i was cocky enough to subtitle said FAQ, "The FAQ nobody ever reads" :rotfl:

The Roll and pitch/sub reflection mod. Delete from it, everything except the DAT files, and you'll have it all. All the stuff the other files do, have been incorporated into TM.
