Default Camera/View hidden by bulkhead using aa gun

When I go to use the aa gun the surrounding model/bulkhead blocks the view so I can't see the planes. I only want to target planes if I am near a target worth sinking....not playing AirQuake or anything.

Suggestions....? Is this in a patch?

sadly there is no patch for this, its been known since the begining but i dont think it was ever fixed by a mod. I think its either hardcoded or too much work because you have to make a new sub model or something. But dont quote me on that because im not always active here and i may have missed something.

Confirmed. I strongly suspect a replacement of the sub model is the only solution and will require the dec team to "fix" it. Until then, use your crew to do the shooting and you'll have a fun time.

Thx mates. Alas, this is one of those things that has an easy fix and could have been caught if someone just did one round of shooting the deck gun on every boat before release....after the 4th patch....

Before anyone flames me for saying it....I love the game...I have played every subsim available, including floating on inner tubes as a child, pretending I was Bungo Pete back in the 70's, and I work in the video game industry..(I know how it goes)....All they have to do is pull the camera in closer to the gun, and create a smaller gun to get the right perspective.

Still having a blast....and just a bit annoyed. Thanks again for confirming!

Pick a "Gunner" with 100/or more experience, assign him your AA gun and don't worry about "Betty" or that "Zero", he will hit it every time ( well almost every time ). No Captain should be shooting planes when he has the ship/boat itself to run. Actually it's better to hit the "P" key way before that sucker gets his sights on you, kick your submerged speed down to 1 knot, step up the TC till dark thirty and then come up for air, call 1/3 speed beef up the TC again. Save a lot of diesel this way ( and enemy sightings of you ).

But if you are still wanting to be shot at by those awful Bettys and Zeros I'll loan you my gunner. Just make sure you feed him enough tuna.
