Default Question for Kpt Lehman-sound mod.

Kpt.
Awhile back after the 1.03 release I think, you had a modified file for the Hydrophone station. I think it was called the "hearing impaired" mod.
It elimineted/reduced background noise and I think increased the sounds of the ship screws.

Playing GWX 2.0 and I've got tremendous background noises; outside sea and wind noise, boat creaking noise, crew coughing and moving about-everything. Makes it really difficult to hear closer sounds and near impossible to hear distant ships. I'd love it if the Hydrophone totally voided out all sounds except the sub screws at 180 and contacts.

Any idea if this can be somehow solved.

This should do it for you. It removes all ambient hydrophone background noise.

Credits to Dowly for the soundfile.

It is in JSGME format.

Thanks a lot, Kpt. This file also tends to my needs. I found it most difficult to follow a contact on hydrophone, with so much background noise.

Thankyou Kpt and Dowly! The old ears aren't what they once were.

I've used the silent sound file from Kpt. Lehmann's mod ever since he first posted it a few months back. I found that I did not need the part of the mod that boosted the contact sound, the silence alone was adequate. You'll be suprised what you'll hear with motors stopped and a silent hydophone background! Note: surfaced, the hydrophone room will be silent; submerged, you'll hear the electric motors and props at a full 360-degrees.

Further, I use the same silent sound file (renamed of course) to put in place of the amb_interior sound file. For me, there was just too much background noise or hissing sounds.

Thank you Kpt. Lehmann for this mod!

Hey Hemisent, a mod with ONLY sound files can be installed at any time without harm.
