Default SH4 Save System

Is it as, err... "idiosyncratic" as SH3's?

From what I have experienced, the save system is much improved over SH3. I have saved submerged and around ships without issue. It is not totally fool proof as some have had corrupt saves but I have not had any problems saving games with ship around. One exception, in port the ships go wierd. Other than that, I have saved with convoys around me and reloaded just fine.

What about the bit where loading a save also deletes all other saves after it?

Never experienced that. I have reloaded previous saves without issue.
