Default [Q] historic correct medals availaibility

Has someone already released a mod to enable the correct release dates for the medals and badges?

Not that I'm aware of

If your using SH3 Commander you can award them manually yourself at the correct times.

Jim, do you know the approximate dates for the medals/badges in GWX 2, as that's something I'd like to do.

You're on the right track with this. Using SH3Cmdr is the only way to "force" correct availability dates, even though it's still a fudge as SH3 does not consider dates at all when awarding medals and badges.

FYI correct medal availability date information is stored in SH3Cmdr's "SH3Cmdr_en.txt" file, first 8 or so lines.

Note that you have a typo in your code:

One scenario you need to test thoroughly is where the player has a greater renown or tonnage sunk at the time you "introduce" a medal or badge. For example, let's say it's 27 Sep 1941 and the player has sunk 100,000 tonnes. He won't get a GC because it doesn't exist yet (it's set to 999999). Come 28 Sep 1941 though, when you introduce the GC which requires only 60,000 tonnage sunk, will the player be awarded it after his next patrol? You could assume that logically the answer would be yes, but, as others have found out, if you reduce the renown required to gain promotion, or raise the renown a player has to higher than a promotion level, the promotion doesn't happen. The same behaviour may not apply to medals and badges, but it may...

Anyway, somewhere in my archives I have the formula SH3 uses for awarding the GC, U-boat badge and War Clasp to the player. IIRC "MedalSettings#" play a part. Try tweaking those.

Thanks for helping me out @ JScones.

Regarding Players IronCross/KnightCross:

-after knights cross is available you must at least gain 1 renown point to get the new medal (no end mission in port 10 sec after mission start)

Regarding GC, U-boat badge and War Clasp

- still no clue what the medalsettings value means (number of patrols, ships sunk?)

Regarding Medal for Crew Members

-having problems with gc and knights cross ... a sailor without a german cross is not able to become a knights cross

Q: is it possible to seperate the knights cross from the german cross for crew members?
