Default GWX 2 puzzling things

Nothing serious, but something's happened which I don't understand.

Had a clean install; everything seemed to work well. Added the following via JSGME:
GWX - 16km Atmosphere
GWX - Captain America's Officer Icons
GWX - Enhanced Damage Effects
GWX - Integrated Orders
GWX - Late War Sensors Snorkel Antennas
GWX - No Medals on Crew

Started the game using SH3Commander, then ran the Academy and one career with no issues. Some things took me by surprise: the pullout compass on the far right, the 'no-tails' contact markers, for instance. Wasn't expecting those. :P

Finished my first patrol, exited then re-ran Commander and started my second patrol. However . . .

I now have tails again; the officer icons have changed; my weather reports are back to the stock ones (i.e. fog instead of visibility reports). Not sure what else might have changed.

I haven't done anything different between patrol one and patrol two, but things now have changed. Any ideas?

have you reinstalled sh3 commander after installing gwx 2.0 and have you added the new commander files?

Affirmative. Guess I shoulda mentioned that, too. Eh?

First I clean-installed GWX 2. Then reinstalled SH3Commander and added the new commander files, then added the mods via JSGME before running anything.

Did you switch user-accounts in XP, between those 2 careers?

I changed nothing at all. All I did between patrols one and two was exit the game, roll back Commander then re-start commander for patrol two. I did nothing at all between the two. I do remember seeing some sort of error notice when SH3Weather started up and I clicked to continue (I hadn't transferred weather over from my original GXW install folder, but it seems to run anyway) but I don't recall the exact wording of the error message. But Weather also ran when I loaded and played the Academy missions and patrol one. It only gave an error message loading up the start of patrol two . . . which I've finished. And having just started patrol three I still have the same changes I'm asking about: I still have contact tails, the old weather report wordings, etc.

In GWX 1.3 it says not to install the

GWX - Late War Sensors Snorkel Antennas

until you have upgraded to a certain type.

It's best to install a new Sh3Commander and Sh3weather to the GWX 2.0 folder or you could get all sorts of problems. (I'm not using weather for GWX 2.0 but wouldn't think it would cause a problem.)

What I have done is to put all shortcuts into desktop folders GWX 1.3 & GWX 2.0, then use the sh.exe icons to change my folders appearance.

For reasons I don't understand (and keep in mind, by now, over the years, I've done multiple installs of SHIII for many different mods and MP versions, so I can't recall every exact step I did) but the SH3Location of the SH3Cmdr.ini file was set for the old GWX version. Which confuzzles me, as it started off for the first patrol running version 2.04 but, when I went to rerun Commander the second time, it was directing to start the old GWX version. ::shrugs::

To fix it I just manually edited the SH3Cmdr.ini file to correctly direct it.
