Default Old GWX question anew

in fact im not even sure if this is an old GWX issue or a vanil-... er i mean... "stock" SH3 issue but i was wondering about this lately.

I made a crash dive (no external view is on so obviously i was in the command room) and the command room view pitched UP and slightly to one side as if to surface.

a while later i gave the order to surface and the command room pitched down and slightly to one side as if to dive!

in short, the command room's orientation to the deck angle is rigged up backwards somehow.

was this a stock issue? or a known GWX bug (yes.. i RTFM)

and my final question... was it ever reslolved or is there any known method of fixing this issue?

EDIT: just verified this on my system again:

when the surface order is given, the command room pitches bow down about 5 degrees and rolls to port about 5 degrees.

when the dive order is given the command room pitches bow up about 5 degrees and rolls to starboard about 5 degrees.

Well, I played stock for a long time (until rather recently), and it definitely happened in that all the time. I think the pitching and rolling is unrelated to the front of the boat, but is in fact related to the direction you are looking. Don't remember exactly, but I believe it's something like that. If you try looking in a different direction (maybe towards the navigator) and doing the same manoeuvres, you might find that it's correct at some point.

No idea if it can be, or has been, corrected, but I doubt it. Shame, as it would probably be very useful on 100% realism when the boat starts sinking by the bow/stern after taking damage. I expect that it's difficult to judge what's happening from the command room, without looking at the pitch gauge between the diveplane operators. I'm guessing though, as it's never happened to me in a career, only in single missions when I had the external camera on and saw what my boat was doing from the outside.

Stock bug I think. I thought that got corrected or had a fix?

:hmm:

yeah thats what i thought... trouble is im just unsure that such a fix exists or if it is available.

@ Turm... the direction one is looking makes no difference, quite simply, the front of the command room is pointing down while surfacing and up while diving, it should be pointing up while surfacing and down while diving. if i change the point of view, or look in another direction, the affect is still the same.
