Look at the damage level meter next to the part(s) to see how high the red bar goes. If it goes to the top, hold your mouse over the bar. If the mouseover reads "1" it means the part is totally destroyed and cannot be repaired at sea.

Clay, you will find repairs take much longer then what was experienced in SH3. Some patrols I have had to keep the men on it for 10 hours. Stern down, bulkheads just about gone. Have to pump water. Although it does not look like the repairs are being done, they are. If you put you mouse cursor over the dark red vertical line next to the damaged part, a figure will pop up. Something like .50 or 50 minutes until done.

Bad part here, if you see water leaking the stupid leak will continue even after repairs are done. Such is life.

No problem Clay. Once I was surfaced and got whacked in the stern by a plane. Took better part of the day to repair. My stern was down as there was flooding. I had to fend off more planes as I could not submerge. Kind of fun trying to survive. Also, in the interface screen for repairs, you can click and drag the part of the sub you want repair first. Just click and drag to the list on the bottom and unclick.

Now the real test of manhood here is ... whether or not you TC while under repair?

I usually go 1:1 while there is damage.

Well if you use TC while waiting on the crew to fix things watch it if you have to dive for I noticed in your post that you have an 18% hull damage. Doesn't look like much but a fast TC and you may meet "Davey Jones".
