Default [Req] Change Medals

I was wondering if it is possible to change the medals that are awarded to you? Let me explain:
On my first mission (beginning of the war) I managed to sink 4 ships and was awarded a "lousy" Bronze Star. In RL skippers were awarded the Navy Cross for just claiming they have sunk 1 ship.
So I was wondering if it is possible to edit some files to get the Navy Cross?

Ok, I just tried to change the medals myself. Do I have to mention that I was not successful?
Here's what I did: I just went to the careertrack file of the last save and changed the medal from "Bronze Star" to "Navy Cross".
The I opened the last save with "Damage Control v1.0" and it said that I have the Navy Cross.
Then I loaded my last save, opened the box were the medals are shown and when I clicked on the medal I got a CTD.
Any ideas?

maybe it notes the information in more than one file...like when you want to change to a custome ship name, you have to edit like 4 files...could be similar?

I think you're right, but I don't have a clue which other files except the CareerTrack file could be affacted.

I was wondering, did you change it in all of the folders where careertrack occurs? Like saved games for the time after the medal was awarded?

Yes, I changed every CareerTrack file since I was awarded the Bronze Star.

Actually I think it was this way .. Bronze Star for 1 ship, Silver Star for 2 ships, and Navy Cross for 3 or more! Not Navy Cross for just 1 ship!

Elanaiba posted this a while back:

Quote:
Purple Heart: over 40% medium damage taken by the sub

Bronze Star: 3 ships sunk in one patrol or a DD, CL or larger combatant ship not worthy of a higher award

Silver Star: 6 ships sunk in one patrol or a CVE or CA sunk

Navy Cross: 8 ships sunk in one patrol or a BB or CV

CMOH: 6 ships sunk in the same engagement (checks for 24 h timeframe) or 2 of the following BB, CV, CVE
Also, according to the book "Wolfpack: The american submarine strategy that helped defeat Japan", the requirements/standards established in 44 by the US Navy for medals are:

Bronze Star: 2 ships sunk in a patrol

Silver Star: 3 ships sunk in a patrol or a DD or larger combatant vessel, or a special mission worthy of this award

Navy Cross: 4 ships sunk in a patrol or a BB, CV or CA or a highly dangerous mission

For all of these 2 ships damaged will be considered as one sunk.
