sound mods for ver 4.01

I was getting regular crashes to desktop before ver 4.01. Then I uninstalled the previous version, reinstalled from the disk, updated to 4.01 and installed some speech mods, run silent run deep, and the ultiimate sound pack. I didnt play for a long time so I cannot be sure that the CTD problem is resolved, but a number of the sound mods did not work and I got some wierd noises when diving. then I uninstalled, reinstalled and updated, and backed up the original sounds. I intend to add new sounds a few at a time until I can ID where the problem is. Does anyone know if there are problems with the "run silent run deep " or the "ultimate sound Mod" mod in Ver 1.04?
