just installed patch 1.4 on a unmodded 1.3 version, the game crashes as ia about to start a mission in carear or sub school any ideas

Uninstall, remove any risidual files or directories, then reinstall and apply patch 1.4.

A friendly reminder: Remember to reboot after install and patch.
I didn't when I patched 1.4, so I reinstalled three times before I recognized my error

Run a disk cleanup to remove all temporary files aswell.

Yep! Start > Run and Type in %temp%. That'll can bring up some obscure ones you can delete as well.

This is probably the most important step.

Un-install and make sure all directorys are gone. Run a registry cleaner. Then re-install.
