Default Overide Excessive winds for gunners?

Hi

Is here a way to change the config files so your gunners will still man the deck gun in more than 5kt winds?

Thanx

As you are looking to use GWX eventually, this has been done for you. 11m/s is now the norm.

If you wish to do this yourself, look for the cfg file in each submarine folder and look for the entry about stormconditions & just change the value.

install GWX and they will remain on duty even in 10 mph winds, but at 11 they still bail

C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\GWXv103\data\Submarine\NSS_Uboat9b (or type of boat your using) and go to the CFG file

But keep in mind 10 m/sec are 36 km/h, travelling the opposite of the wind direction at flank speed 18 kts adds another 33 km/h. 70 km/h and the deck sometimes rinsed by the waves.
Puh ...
Please send only your strongest athletes to the gun.

Stock game settings for the stormconditions can be changed with a text editor. To a good compromise and lets you use the guns in mild rain and waves. Taking a guess you have the VIIB boat.
Ok open the NSS_Uboat7b.cfg with a text editor (textpad/notepad) located in C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\SilentHunterIII\data\Submarine\NSS_U boat7b Note if your have a different boat just open the correct file / folder.
Locate the StormConditions=
Change it to;
StormConditions=11,0.8;max wind speed [m/s], max rain intensity [0,1]
or
StormConditions=14,0.9;max wind speed [m/s], max rain intensity [0,1]

The above values at least offer some flexability.
