Won t let me use- hate vista

Hi gang... i need to get my hands on good ole SH III, but Vista 32bit edition on this new PC will not let me RUN the game (that installed fine).

i got the GWX 1.03 (IIRC), a bunch of other mods, and all the official patches ready to use.

The error message i get goes something to say that STARFORCE is not a program recognised/allowed/certificated by the Microshift corporation, and i should check their website for updates.

now i have no time to waste, can get online once every ten days and am looking for a solution...

PC seems fine, 2*2.4 Ghz 2048 DDR2, Ati Double Gcard, space as much as i never need...Direct X says 10 and all the other games including SH IV are doing jhust fine...

wich files are the solution?

any help will be GREATLY appreciated- thos Gato class tubes are no match for a IXC with the later conning towers and the 105 mm gun IN A GWX environment !

btw... the pc i game on aint "connected"... so....

Starforce is the SH3 copy protection program, SH3 will not run without it (to my knowledge)

A lot of people don't like it and say it can damage your dvd drives, personally it has never caused me any problems, but I might have been lucky.

If you want SH3 to run you will need to allow Vista to install it (theres an option on XP that says install anyway, not sure about Vista though), you shouldn't need to go online at all.

Newer releases of the game come without starforce

There are however other ways around it plus IIRC updates to allow starforce to work on Vista

If you would have followed the instructions that Vista gave you [clicking one Vendors web site] when the error came up, it automatically takes you here:

Which works/updates Starforce for Vista.

I had no problems on the first try following the instructions. SHIII and GWX 1.03 worked just fine using Vista.

This is why I have a dual boot setup of XP and Vista on my PC. Vista for DX-10 games and XP for everything else!
