I would think this statement should be making people very happy:
"we have optimized the engine quite a little bit from release. Loading times are much shorter and memory usage is lower. So, leave the wallet alone." Considering nthey are increasing the viewing distance, this is a cool bonus.

I am pleased that UBI considers the genre worthwhile and continues to invest time and energy into it.
I am dissappointed that the current game continues to present difficulties for users such as myself and tha t fixes and patches are slow in coming and seemingly dance around the issues players present in forums to fix. One of the elements that might just be worth looking into is a modders council where modders of the game can actually communicate with UBISOFT programmers and present and address there mods to best integrate into the game seamlessly. This would allow for mods to be more or less "certified" as having me some minimal certification. Modders could also work out a rights issue and allow UBI to incorperate their code in Patch's or at least have the code in addendum as an optional modification. What I'm pointing out here as a far greater involvement of the company with the community and a definite assist effort that would greatly enhance the modders and UBI's credibility. Just some thoughts... |
