Default I am Back and YES this time with SH4 :D

Howdy folks,

Be back again and this time with SH4....
First compliment about the GPX in SH4.. it's awesome, and that game runs on a Laptop Intel Duo Core T7250 with GPX card of nVidia GeForce 8600M GS..
2GB of mem.. no hickups and no more 5 minutes loading waiting just like the SHIII ...
Offcourse i will install the SHIII also on my laptop, because my old P4 1.7 getting old and slow...

About the game...
Looks great... i did refueling in Midway just checking that it does work...

Questions...
1).Why does SH4 have only 5 missions?
compairing SHIII has more missions...
-In Career mode

2). Why is lesser traffic on the ocean in SH4 than in SHIII???
-my first mission is in 1941 in Purl Habor heading Tokyo..
Passed Midway and still no boats to sink???

3). Will the Graywolf crew modding the SH4 also?(I HOPE SO)
- Even i download all the UBI patches it miss something, and i also heard that the 1.4 patch is on the way...

Thats it for now, will post some more...
Later y'all...

You were gone ? just kidding.

1.) Because the 'core' of the game is centered on carrier mode and missions were added as 'examples' other missions can be created by the community and added. Mod's kinda of make that difficult though because of conflicts.

2.) Less traffic ??? Okay if you say so, I found the amount of traffic to be so hight I installed the layers mod. Beerys work I believe.

3.) Ill remain mute on this subject as its kind of a hot potatoe. But there are a plethora of mods available. There is a whole forum section dedicated to them.

1) If you want more missions do a search and you will come across more that have been made since its release. But I agree with SW,the game is best played
in career mode.

2) Are you referring to SH3 Stock or GWX, stock has little traffic compared to GWX, Stock SH4 in comparison has too much traffic, and as SW mentioned has been stripped down by some of the modders here.

3) If your referring to the GWX Crew, they can come if they want, but modders in SH4 don't need to take a back seat to anybody, they are doing great things with the game now ( check out the 1.3 updated mods list, it is extensive ) and I am sure this will continue into the future

Because at that point in time the Japanese were attacking the Philippines, not Midway. Not to sound condescending but to put it in SH3 terms, you've basically just asked "I just left Kiel and I'm rounding Denmark and I haven't seen anything yet to sink!" Wait until you get close to Japan and the Philippines.

You should try an Asiatic career in 1941. Then I can refer you to a specialist after you get carpal tunnel reading all the contact reports.

There are a very talented bunch of guys working on SH4 now and with historical action in the PTO. In fact, out of the gate they have done exceptionally well.

There is to be an addon with Uboats in the Indian Ocean and I suspect the uboat fans and the GWX crew will be working on that addon. There has been some talk of porting in SH4 graphics to SH3 but the developers are kind of opening the gates for SH3 to spill into SH4. Kind of nice of them as IMO feel the SH3 graphics are getting a bit dated.

As others have said so well. The Pacific is the biggest ocean in the world. You've barely left port. Before you pile on the mods, get to know the game. It's not as thin as it appears when you 1st play it.

Here's a basic map showing major Japanese wartime convoy routes. The reason you're not seeing any Japanese merchants even past Midway is there is simply nowhere out there in that vast ocean desert for them to sail to. Most of Japan's conquests and badly needed resources were to the south and in China. So that's where the shipping routes go.
