No, but I'm looking forward to having a full U Boat Atlantic campaign in SH4.

Oh yeah. Of course, even back in the 90s I used to bounce between AOD and SH1.

Sure, I still play SHIII (GWX and Commander). But, I'd still play 688 and Fleet Command and Fighting Steel if I could get them to run on my current winbox machine

Often, the older a game gets, the better it feels to play it (I still fire up Janes WWII fighters sometimes too, since it does run under Vista - and would run Janes USAF if it only would - best combat flight sim ever, IMO).

i still need my german fix. so sh3 gets fired up as well as sh4. i've got to admit it jsut feels ODD being an american sub. german is fine, hell i'd even go japanese (midget subs ftw) but allied? it just feels wrong.

No, but not because it looks old... just waiting for GWX 1.04.

...and not playing SH4 because waiting for patch 1.4..

No sub action at all at the moment and just World in Conflict to pass the time which I think's very overated. A five year old could play it and win... point click kill, point click kill, point click... kill.

What are you waiting for, the game is very playable with 1.3.

American Submarine warfare is the opposite of the battle of the Atlantic. Basically I've found that my odds of surviving the war in the Pacific as being about 70-80 percent. Surviving the war as a U-boat skipper? About 0%. But it's fun to see how far I can get.

And it's nice to see 60 ship convoys once in a while (I scripted my SH3 campaign with looping convoys because the random ones suck IMO). By scripting them I can have very different escort configurations, sometimes with sweepers 10,000 meters away from the main body. And after scripting a couple hundred convoys--there's no way of knowing what you'll run into. The downside is they don't go into ports but just get close and turn around and head back. It'd rare to see the same convoy twice in a career though.

I recently reinstalled it plus SHIII Commander 2.7, and GWX 1.03 with 1.03 expansion, plus some other mods.

You needed to add more responses. I do not play SH3 as I have studied the ATO. Read every book I could get my hands on concerning the ATO and watch Das Boot numerous times. Played the game enhanced by GWX. Now it is time to do much the same in the PTO. Plenty of books already read and more on order. I have a few movies in my library. I have volunteered to restore the USS Torsk which I love doing with great satisfaction. It gets to be more of a study and learning type deal for me. With a bit of imagination playing SH4, attempting to get the full effect without stealing the USS Torsk and taking her for a cruise in the Chesapeake Bay.
