If you mean people making poor choices by driving a fancy auto while living in a double-wide or a chanty, yes I noticed. Its been going on for a long time. My grandmother, God rest her soul, used to have a term for it which would put me in the dog house if I used it here. If you want to know drop me a PM.

There is a trend here aswell that allmost everyone tries to get a feancy car but to afford it they live in a ****box. Id rather walk and live in a decent apartment, guess im just weird.

One of the strangest things I ever saw, while stationed on Guam, was a brand new 1973 Cadillac DeVille parked in front of this little run-down thatched roof shanty with a pen with some pigs and several chickens running around loose. I'm sure the owner lived there as I saw the Caddy parked there numerous times days and nights...

Some time ago I met a Portuguese guy on the airport who worked in an investment bank. He was telling me how three junior staff members were frowning at him because he had bought economy class tickets, while they were in first-class. Since first-class boards first, they entered the plane ahead. Next thing they know the Portuguese guy walks by the first class on his way to economy with the President and Vice-President of the bank right behind him.

Yep - totally what I mean. I have yet to meet a rich person that doesn't claim they are broke, and I see tons of poor people who pretend to be rich, driving fancy cars and other expensive items they can't afford.

Rich is a word that changes its meaning from view point to view point. For instance, when Hilary says that she wants to tax only the rich, she really means everybody!

What is so wrong with buying a nice car while living in a crappy home anyway? I for one would rather live in a small shack and have my dream car than live in a mansion with only a bicycle. I'm a car guy though so hey, to each their own.
