The Radio is what you use to send and recieve messages like contact reports, status reports and such.

The gramaphone will place music and that can be found if you click on the radio man icon.

The radar can be switched on with the radio man icon or just go to the station by pressing "R" and looking for the on switch.

Hope this helps.

Mike

you of course need to be surfaced to turn on radar or send a radio report out ( plus that station has to be manned )

edit : you also need to actually have radar installed on your boat ..... don't know what year its avaible .... when first leaving port its on auto and your radio man gives you contacts ...........

Fumo-29 (radar) is available from the end of 1941/beginning of 1942. Its not the best radar available, but at least it gives you a way to detect ships/aircraft beyond visual range.
