Default Ships/Subs Wakes

I haven't any screenshot to witness it, but in my opinion the wakes of the ships-subs needs more foam....
Ex:

The wake of the sub is different, because of the shape of her stern, but a moving 2000-ton sub should have a very foamy wake.

From the bow wave, looks like the ship & subs are hauling butt.

The effect of the "breaking bow wave" (pict.) is good, but the "foam band" must be improved a lot....In SHIII they managed to show it very good, but the modders were limited by the limits of the game...i hope that in SH4 we can get it far more better...

Talk about overloading the graphics card!!!!

The effect would be a nice addition, but not really high on the list of improvement/ implimentations, this sim is in need of.

Default there are controls for this on each individual ship and sub

They are in the DAT file's and the VAL file's. But they are not well labeled and don;t give exact reference point's. Most are speed related control's. They are called ship wake's and Saij but unless you have a 3d editing program to find out exactly what the corordinate's set up in the game refer to on the sub and ship what you do will be trial and error and you will have to find out exactly in game what you are changing and compair the over all effect's.

There are height control's for both the object ie (Sub or Ship) and the wake's and foam as well as particle effect's and a lot more.

Complicated seeing they do not refer to a well named possition.

SiajB
SaijF01
SaijF01_02
SaijF02
SaijF02_b

Those are just for starter's.

Some are for the surfacing and submerging effect's some are just for surface effect's.

There are also references to them in other file's for the same Sub and or ship in the VAL file's and some control's there as well.

A lot to figure out and work with in that respect.

yeah...this could be a fps killer, but when I see the wake left by a 2500 ton sub it looks like the wake left by my 50-cm x 200gr plastic model of Andrea Doria in my bathtub

I agree it could be better, (i.e. more accurate), but considering the ENORMOUS improvements already made to this game by the talented modders here...I'm content to leave well enough alone. As someone already said, there are still a few things that are higher on the priority list.

Again many many thanks to all of the modders here, you have spent an outrageous amount of personal time and sweat to make a "decent" game, almost "SUPERB"!
