I was wondering... what was the historical crew complement of an american sub?
How many Commisioned officers and NCO vs sailors? Also, did the engine room had a dedicated commisioned officer (like a chief engineer)? |

there were about 70 non comms on the boat and about 10 officers, I am not sure about the officer in the engine room, however I do not think so since their was two engine rooms on each sub. I believe the crew were just highly and I emphasize highly skilled, since each man had a specific job. The engineering officer might be in charge of the general maintenance but he was not stationed there.
