Default batteries and diesel

Hi.

During a career mission i was struck by a small air-raid and took some heavy beating. The diesel engines was destroyed but most of the electric engines was repaired and was working. This was pretty close to one of the sub-tender.

Is it possible to run on batteries on the surface?
If so, how?

It's possible to run on the electric motors alone in a real sub. This was the method the Germans used to bypass acoustic mines in port. I remember being able to do it in SH2. I don't think it's been an option in SH3 and SH4.

On the surface anyway. Wait for other opinions tho. I may yet stand to be corrected.

Far as I am aware you will need to submerge to use your electric motors. You neednt go deep deep. Simply going to radar depth ";" will suffice, then you can head back at a 3 knot creep.

Submerged on batt you get slightly over 48 hours at two knots (which is also close to the max CO2 duration without surfacing.)
