Default Rigged for Red

Awhile back we used to joke around about players putting red light bulbs in their rooms where they played SH3.

Well, I just bought one of these illuminated keyboards. Even the letters on the keys are backlit, so it's perfect for playing in a dark room with no other lights , which I usually do.

One button switches from 3 different colors, blue, purple and red. I normally play on blue, but now when the Uboat is rigged for red , so am I!

I bought it because I'm usually playing at night and in the dark (best monitor visuals).

I was always pushing my face close to the keyboard trying to see the keys, and pressing the wrong ones. This totally fixes that.

And the red color with a subsim was just a bonus.

It works great, plugs right into a USB port, and I bought it at circuit city for about $60.

MONOLITH, is that the Saitek Eclipese 2? I bought the first series Eclipse 2 weeks ago at Wally Mart and love it. But mine is blue backlighting, no red. They didn't have any of the second series on the shelf. Your's looks great.

This keyboard is great for typing and playing in the dark. If you also fly online it's great for that too.

Yes, it's the Eclipse 2. Has blue, red, and purple.

I use blue for the daytime, and red at night (along with the sub times).

But sub gaming aside, I'll never use a non-lit keyboard again.

Done that a few times, once pressing the key for periscope depth, instead of crash dive!

I bought the Eclipse for that very reason
The amount of times I pressed the wrong key was unbelievable
Not any more though

Mine is only blue too
:hmm:
Could be time to upgrade

Sweet bit of kit! Who was joking about having a red bulb? I got one for night play cos the main room light is too glary for night ops.

Love the keyboard look, will get one ASAP thanks for the advice

Anyway, remember please that playing with only the monitor light in your room is VERY bad for your eyes, so better have some dim light somewhere illuminating the room or you could end up with some eye illness. No joking If the contrast of the monitor does not allow you to see well at night (Night in the sim) with another light, try placing the lamp in the floor, avoiding direct lighting of your monitor.

It's a 'must-have' .. also fed up with fumbling about in the dark and pressing the wrong key. Do have a dinky wee usb light that resembles the bad guys in war of the worlds but this keyboard is the way to go

My wife got me one of those after I complained about not being able to hit the right keys. What a wife!!

Makes a BIG difference in the game.
