It's funny that you should mention that. The first thing that I thought of the first time that I saw/tried one was that the iPhone was essentially a PADD from Star Trek.

This is why I think the iPhone will never replace the Crack Berry. It's too comber sum as compared to the Black Berry. It is however intuitive for people who know nothing of technology - Apple's primary market.
