Default game experience on wide screen

Hi guys,

What's your opinion about playing SH4 on a 20" wide screen instead of a "normal" screen?
Is it better or worse?

Thanks and good hunting,
fvd

I play it on a 21.6inch wide screen at native 1680x1050 and love it. Just wish I had a slightly better video card - mine is fine but does bog down with several flaming ships in view at once.

I'm using a Samsung 216BW and a PNY GeForce 8500GT 512MB card (I'm currently limited by power supply).

I've been playing on a 32" widescreen and I love it. The widescreen resolution is supported and there are no visual problems, so I can't say one is better or worse in that respect. The rest is a matter of taste.

I'm on a 22" Samsung with a GeForce 8800GTS. I think the game lends itself really well to widescreen. You get a nice sense of the open ocean.

21" Widescreen LCD, 1680x1050.

It's not just SH4, but all gaming is better on a widescreen. I'll never go back to a square box.

Try setting the particles slider lower, it may help with the flaming ships

Hmmm... I'm running at 16:10 (aka 8:5 - 1920 x 1200) and I'm not sad at all.

Same here. And it is so easy to get used to. "Normal" monitors don't cut it anymore, besides, where to put your Vista sidebar on a normal monitor?

Playing on a Gateway 22" FPD2185W LCD monitor with native resolution of 1680x1050 at 60 mhz. Makes my gaming of SHIV totally awesome.
