Default GWX/SH3Commander probs - lite traffic and vampire vision

Hey guys

Finished with my mass reinstall. However, on restarting the game, I've noticed two main little 'issues'. Firstly, my lite harbour traffic doesn't seem to have turned off, even though I have the GWX mod activated in JSGME. It's not a huge problem, just takes longer to get outta Kiel with all the spotting of harbour traffic slowing down my TC.

Also I've noticed my WO being able to pick things up at 12,000 meters +, where previously it was at the most 8,000. I don't know if this is usual, and it's just kicking me outta TC quicker than previous.. but it's at the point where he'll respot the same boat (it seems) because they keep moving in and out of his max vision range. What is the most distance that on a perfectly clear day the WO should be able to spot another fair sized vessel from?

Any hints to solving these two problems? I'm not sure if it's an issue or not, but I think when I first reinstalled everything, I hadn't patched GWX to 1.03 before installing SH3Commander and JSGME mods and SH3 on the training missions again. When I realised I might not have done this, I rolled back SH3C and undid the mods, patched, then re-put the mods back on, then loaded up SH3C again.
