Default WEEK-LONG CALL-IN INITIATIVE:ULTIMATE EFFORT TO ACQUIRE Patch v1.4...

I've been asked by a fellow member of the Ubi SHIV Forums to post some information about trying to get people to help make an effort to make Ubisoft see that we need a 1.4 patch. The information is below.

Dear Members, Subsim members and visitors alike,

On September 21st 2007, I have requested that all members wanting to improve or add to the list in the Complementary Bug Thread do it at once for it has reached a quasi-final state. No more, unless pointed otherwise by members for mistakes I would have been the cause, would this list change EVER AGAIN. By Sept. 23rd at midnight, all forgotten elements should be restored through re-editing ONE last time.

My decision behind this is for all to stick to the inevitable good thing to do: the ULTIMATE CALL-IN INITIATIVE bestowed upon this forum.

On Monday September 24th will begin the greatest operation to push forward the development of patch v1.4. Having called in last week myself, and keeping it secret until now, I was answered by a supervisor (finally!) who confirmed that both call-in initiatives in MAY 2007 caused substantial financial losses to Ubisoft. I projected that a week-long call-in initiative would DEFINITELY influence Ubisoft to reconsider its stance on the future existence of patch v1.4 versus the cost associated with US calling in the whole day, 5 days in a row requesting what we need.

HERE IS what you are to say when you call:
  • Politely ask the name of the representative caring for you. Write it down.
  • He will ask you for your UBI_Forum login name.
  • Explain him why you call: You want the development of patch v1.4 to be confirmed.
  • Be adamant in telling him that you want the issues needing fixing through the development of patch v1.4 taken from the sticky "Complementary Bug Thread" in the General Discussion Forum. That the DEVTeam read it very thoroughly.
    ==>The WHOLE LIST (including the NOTES and OMISSIONS section).
  • Secondly, that wanted improvements to the game will be addressed in the sticky "WEEK-LONG CALL-IN INITIATIVE: ULTIMATE EFFORT TO ACQUIRE patch v1.4" and it ought to be noted along as well. Insist firmly if you may.
  • So the patch content is two fold and you insist that the representative relay through the proper channel your claims to his supervisor. State that all issues will not SIMPLY GO AWAY AND VANISH unless patched.
  • Further explain that YOU request a "projected date" for the completed development of the patch once the DEVTeam takes note of all the elements disclosed previously.
  • Also, emphasize to him that once the development of patch v1.4 is confirmed, YOU request a BI-MONTHLY Progress Update Report from the DEVTeam along with the possibility to exchange or discuss directly on the forum with them about the progress itself.
  • A final HOT FIX if collateral issues from patch v1.4 installation happen.
  • Describe some of your feelings behind the many technical and historical inaccuracies within SH4. That you want to be heard.
  • Thank the representative for hearing you out and thanking also UBIsoft for providing you with this possibility.
-----

Call back an hour later and repeat...

-----

Basically, I need everyone on this forum to actively PARTICIPATE to this initiative for the whole week. You want a LAST PATCH, YOU GOT to TAKE THE MATTER IN YOUR OWN HANDS.

Please, POST HERE your intention, and I mean if everyone on this forum could post there support here, at least I would have an idea of what's happening.

REMEMBER that we are also doing this for our late friend DeepBlueWolf, to honor his memory through our actions.

DO NOT LET US DOWN!!!

-------
Here's the WANTED IMPROVEMENT LIST:
  • New convenient elements within SH4's menu --requiring the DevTeam outlook-- to be added: a cutscene/video viewer available in the menu;
  • In the submarine school section, a depth charge evasion course and a AA defense course (with BOTH a good number of difficulty settings), as well as a quick practice mode;
  • An ENEMY AI Option menu, standalone in its own right (not comprised within gameplay settings), allowing the player to taylor the various AI variables to his personnal preference. A comprehensive menu detailing the most important aspect of AI variable attribution;
  • In Quick Mission, be given the option to choose the weather and the boat's crewmen and equipments upgrades for each mission.

Good luck, and really I mean it. I just hope all this doesn't go on deaf ears.... Ubi's and the Dev Team. Or, it just may tie up and crash their phone lines. Then they can ask the phone company for a Patch or Hotfix. LOL

It'll be a hard one pulling this off by phone alone. Emails to Ubi Tech Support would work just as good or even better, IMHO. They have to read them all.

Um, I think you'll find that patch 1.4 arrives a lot sooner than you think.

In my view this is a form of terrorism or similar to initiating a virus and I wont have anything to do with it.

SH4 is just a game and whereas I dont like buying bugged software myself it is pretty much standard for any piece of complex software these days.

I cant see how demanding they are fixed by threatening force is going to encourage Ubisoft in producing another patch.

Far better to just not buy their next game if you feel that strongly, as is the likely action I will be taking if at least the game's CTDs are not fixed.

If you are experiencing a lot of CTD's I can't see any reference to them in any of your posts since April. There are some possibilitites from a game perspective (most of which have been fixed through patches or mods), but since 1.03 most are likely hardware/driver related. If you want to start a new thread about your problems there are any number of people here who would be happy to help.

Are there even plans to put out another patch right now? I thought 1.3 was the last.

Been spending too much time on digg and reddit....I'm looking for a "bury" button for this thread.
