Awesome! Thanks for post. I loved the original sudden strike games. They were ahead of their time graphically with the types of effects they used. Although, from the screenshots it doesn't look like much has changed....haha

I have been cursing the First Sudden strike for days
and still I was stupid enough to keep playing it

I just loved the chaos on the Battlefield and that 1 move could completly means the end of your forces. especialy when you had to reassemble all your forces from here and there, and try a different move

when Sudden Strike 2 , I was happy to know that it was doing it easier on you...no that you move your units a bit forward and you get blasted to hell with almost all the artillery the enemy has.

I,m certainly going to keep my eye out on number 3

I might well have to take a look at this demo, I loved SS2, found it a bit easier over SS1 which used to beat me silly and then some more out of shear malice.

Maybe, it could also be that the first time I played SS1 I was a fair bit younger and therefore rather a novice in military tactics. I certainly hadn't discovered the "Find it, then shell the hell out of it with the artillery" tactic that I use a lot with the Soviets.

Same here,
I played it with the style of Command&Conquer
the more I had the better I thought...but it seems a couple of barrages of the enemy arty was enough to wipe me off the battlefield...

so I changed my strategy over the years now I think long about a move
for example. when I see a small town where I have to go throught, I aint going to be stupid and move my forces into it.
nor am I going to use planes to bomb it or scout it.
so, I take a group of infantry to scout the town.
if there is heavy resistance, I let my arty turn the town into a pile of rubble, then I,m going to move fast moving units like halftracks, light tanks into the the city fast. after them the heavier armament comes in including a group of infantry.

in online play it was funny to see people act like the WW1 generals and just send anything they had into a suicidal move towards the other...it was just hoping you had better stuff and a bit more.

while I just conquered the balloons , and set up a heavy defence around the balloon. and then move on...but on roads and building I moslty hided some infan and a light cannon to do some damage.

ah well...enough talking
Sudden strike is the only game, I hate & love at the same time its great!
