Oh Mein Gott

While trying to surface my boat today ... I hear oh mein gott... an 39 of my crew are DOA! No enemy planes or ships around. If I go to my crew management screen fast enough I can actually see my crew being picked off one by one by some invisible force.

I also have a bug when loading a saved game my boat is running at periscope depth yet my tower crew has magically remanned their stations, and can breathe under water!!! Not too mention if there are an enemy ships or planes near they view me as running surfaced. YET I am at periscope depth.

Gasp!!

Sigh Im running stock GWX ... occasionally with SH3comm.

Umm the date is sept 44-ish.

You have run into the Conning tower of doom bug

Theirs a flawed conning tower that causes your crew to all flock to the deck (since the engine forces you to ALWAYS have a person on the watch deck.) and they keep getting replaced and killed.

Ironically, it's recommened that you never save submerged. Funky things happen.

To be sure if this was the Conning Tower of Death bug, which boat & which tower are you using?

Anyway to avoid or prevent or survive this or will I have to sacrifice my elite "zupamen" to the deep sea gods?? :hmm:

The IXD2 is cursed anyway

Theirs nothing you can do about it, surface and end patrol before too many die.

Get a diffrent conning tower.

Oh Well was thinking about a new career anyways... 1944 was getting a bit dangerous...air raids when leaving base... depth charges right down my snorkel hole...straffing runs...you know..

Unless you have a save where you are surfaced you are in trouble.

The only thing I can suggest is that you save the crew cfg file from the SH3 folder in my documents, that way, if your crew are not saveable this time round, you can copy/paste it back in for your new patrol.

Can't give you the specifics right now. Might be able to later.
