I'd posted that somewhere else on the forum (Dilema at Curacao), than I thought it may be interesting to ivestigate further. Has anyone else discovered that?
Once I've discovered a way to avoid subnets, but..... frankly you need to use long range torpedoes like T I type or T VII. Why ... simple. I think game engine or sth has a certain limitation. In my opinion game generates subnets when you're about 4-5 km from your targets or the place the subnet is. It happened to me near Halifax, where are about 15 juicy targets. I'd fired two torpedos from 7,5 km and sent two targets to the sea bottom. When I was about 3 km I fired another two torpedos and all of them hit subnet. Well, due to the fact that those two torps fired earlier were not "flying wunderwaffe", I assume that game generates subnets the way I mentioned above. ![]()

yes thats quite interesting but basically its pure speculation - can you go into another port and try your theory - will be interesting.

The game normally renders everything within 30km or so at once :hmm: |

It was standard depth (settings automaticly chosen by WO). I tried to cross subnet on surface at night but no luck, just got stuck :rotfl: and lost some hullintegrity. It was not the enemy port, but place north-west (or maybe north-east of Halifax:hmm: - I don't recall correctly) in calm bay where ships resting point is located. I detected that using SH3 Gen. Strange, but width of the subnet is corresponding with baywidth
![]() ![]() Well, at that time I didn't use tweaked torpedos. It was standard steam torpedo .... (stock 1.03 GWX), I think T1, and the distance was up to 7,5 km. ![]()

We learn something every day it seems.....never come across a sub net that didn't reach the sea floor :hmm:

None of the torpedo nets on the Russian ports go deeper than about sixty meters in the Black Sea. Sunk probably fifty thousand tons of merchantry on that particular fact.

I've had the exact same situation happen once, near a port on Sardinia. It might be some sort of bug, did you use Time Compression when the torpedo was running?
