I don't know, but my Silent Hunter 3 won't work. I clean install the game, no modifications or anything, start it up and the screen flickers pink and green. Then the computer restarts itself. (I didn't install any patches)
I think it's with my drivers not up-to-date. Oops, sorry for not introducing myself. ![]() More info soon, it around min-night here.. ![]() |

Hate to be the one to bring this up but mine did that a year or so ago.... the video card was over heating and finally just fried .... SH3 is graphic demanding and takes your card to its limits ....... I would susgest removing the side cover off the computer and see if your heat sink fans are full of dust ... easy to blow out with compressed air ... others have just used a vacume cleaner to suck them out ..... leave the side cover off and put a small table fan blowing air in fast to help move air faster ......... one way to know if your computer if getting way too hot is just place your hand in the back in front of the power pack exhaust fan .... if its hot .. well .................

No, I think it's the graphic card itself. I played it on my Intel GMA 64Mb fine, but extremely laggy, and this new one might not be supported. (Nvidia 6200, I have an old PCI computer, 3.06 Ghz, 1 Gigabyte of RAM.)

I tried to delete the intro movies, but it didn't work. I tried putting the game on my mother's computer and it worked but it's really laggy with only 512mb of RAM, can anyone help? Other games also crash halfway through loading.

I would suggest you upgrade your Graphics card to at least 6800 but the higher the better.
Btw, are you from Pluto the Planet ? Have never come across anybody from there before. Is there a Shuttle service and do they have a midnight there ? Sorry for all these questions. |

Go for the Nvidia 8800 thats the best without a lag period. And yes its the graphics card. just read the box on the back where the requirements r at and you can go from there.

Hrmmmmmm........
My graphics card is an old Nvidia GeForce FX 5500 with 256 MB of ram on it. Also my computer is at 3.2 GHz, but only 512 MB of RAM! I do have some lag, but only when there are a lot of ships near me and I'm trying to use time compression and if I'm really close to a ship when it explodes (the fire and smoke affect) but not to the point where the game is unplayable....... Of course I'm using the latest driver, Forceware 163.71 and I keep the guts of my computer clean as possible........ Still, the 6 to 7 minute load times are making me want to upgrade my ram. |
