Default Sinking ships question/request

Using GWX 1.03, I've seen ships sink bow and stern first, explode and break in two, go perpendicular to the ocean and sink, and even had a passenger liner at sea settle straight down and go under. So here is my question is it possible for a ship to roll over and sink? I seem to remember this from stock SH3. If it is not possible, can it be brought back?

The best way to make a ship capsize in sh3 is a torpedo tweaked
for kinetic energy as opposed to chemical energy.

that is high speed above high explosive in the emphasis on the tweak.

Ive capsized a few that way but wasnt going for that effect at the
time so I didnt refine it.

Nice to hear that, because in stock SH3 I saw that few times. Capsized Revenge Class looked great. In 1.03 GWX I've never seen that. ..... at least yet.

You know, come to think of it, I can't recall seeing a capsize post-GWX either. :hmm: I'm sure someone will post a definitive screenshot of one at some point though.

Doesn't bother me though.

Nice BBW.

You know, IIRC, the only ships which ever 'capsized/rolled over' in stock were the capital/largest warships. I'm pretty sure that this is still the case. Huge efforts were made to alter the sinking/damage properties of the capital ships and although we now get nice pyrotechnics, they still only capsize once thier damage points are depleted.

I have never seen a BB split in two then sink.:hmm:
<got another pic BBW?>

That's why when your in a battleship, and slippy tells you "do a barrel roll"
you don't do it

Ummmm I think BBs are one part hulls like the smaller vessels ( most merchants are 2 part hulls so can split )

That's right. I searched the battleship DAT files and did not find the "F" and "B" (Front & Back) hull objects. Unfortunately we will never see an accurate version of HMS Hood's demise, or the sinking of the Roma.
