Hi Kaleuns,
Can someone tell me when I will start find enemy (and allied) mines off east coast of UK and harbors in general in GWX1.03 ?? It's June 1940 now and I haven't seen (or felt !!) any yet. Sorry - I don't have the large GWX manual to hand at the moment.... TIA, Capn Mike |

They should be there from the outset....pull down the page from the top left corner of your navigation screen and you will see a mine placement map of most of your bases for starters (nets too)

You should of had a radio message from BDu telling you that the east coast of Britain had been mined.
(At least I did) |

I tell you what, the brits can throw all the sunderlands and Tribals at me that they like but mines scare the living bejesus outta me, just yesterday i took refuge in a friendly port whilest waiting for the fog of death to subside, i reversed out of the harbour as i kept drifting towards the peir and BOOM! I didnt die but I had to dock at that port and start a new patrol
![]() You know that horrible gut wrenching feeling when you view your sub under water with the external cam only to see mines passing by, EEK! I seem to remember stock sh3 warned you about mines with the event cam as you got close to them (like it does with DC), havent seen this happen for ages, anyone know what happened to this feature? - or did i just imagine it? 2 years is a long time.... |

Thanks Guys!
I must have just been very very lucky so - far but I HAVE got the Lite Harbor trafic installed, as otherwise the game is a bit stuttery in home ports when I'm in a real hurry to get out and sink some ships !!:-) Will have a look at the pull-down maps also - hadn't seen them until now. I must admit I follow the escort of of home port usualy anyway - as long as it's goiung fast enough. Just thought I would have seen some off the east coast of UK when I wa sbased in Keil and Willi, but nothing yet. Will have a close look tonight, or might even try a bit of harbor raiding for fun (just to check if there are mines of course!) Thanks all of you Kaleuns for all of your help - without this forum I woud never have made it this far! CapnMike |
