i was going to edit some stuff in the cfg folder in sh4, and when i open it up, it looks exactly like the one from sh3. example, for the crew cfg, its type II, VII, XXI, etc. and in the basic cfg, its the same 1 from sh3.
i would like to know if any one else has come across this and have any soultions? btw, sh3 has never been installed on this computer. its my brand new Dell Insprion laptop. the specs are as follows AMD Truion 64x2 mobile TL-56 processor 2GB ram 160GB hardrive ATI Radion X1270 graphics card 17" HD screen Vista Home Premium OS |

I'm not into editing but I'm pretty sure that rig can handle both SHs.

it does sh4 very well indeed. not a single ctd. it was only $1345 to. (it was a graduation present). its a lot better than my desktop. when i installed sh4 on my desktop, it would crash as soon as i loaded a mission. that was becausethe only graphics card i had was the intel excllated graphics, intergareted.
the best hin about this laptop is that the 2gb of ram and the 160gb hardrive was a free upgrade ![]() |

No "solution" is needed. There's absolutely nothing wrong. SH4 is based massively on SH3, so the devs simply used the SH3 files and file names. Some were made inactive. It was quicker for them to do that than start from scratch.
Exactly the same thing happened with Medieval Total War 2 - when you start to explore the files etc. it's actually Rome Total War. I suppose they work on the "If it ain't broke ...." principal Last edited by Von Manteuffel; 08-26-07 at 03:08 PM. |
