I am not happy with YouTube quality at all. I've been experimenting with video lately on YouTube and cannot find any reason to like it other than that it is a quick and easy way to stream video when detail is of no concern. Outside of that, the quality just can't portray the original recorded quality to any degree - it is heavy on the compression with large blocks easily noticeable. I did find that you can gain some quality for them if you resize the video's yourself in your own given engine - this will alllow you to have detail that would be lost if you used their simple resizer program - which is what they use if you use upload an off-size sample.
I guess I want YouTube 2 is what I want (640x480 quality), but I guess I can keep waiting. Anyway, you can watch my samples and make your own judgement (especially if you ever downloaded my original files - and I can provide them if you want to compare): Armed Assault part 1 - Armed Assault Part 2 - Some non- corriagraphed vids: 60 sec quick kill in F4 - Silent Hunter 4 Opening movie - All vids: http://www.youtube.com/results?searc...&search=Search -S |
