For those who maybe don't look at the mod forum very often since you like to play stock, you should take a look at my sig and check out the latest voice command stuff. Just put up a major update that gives you very precise control over your ship speed, heading, rudder and depth.
I just looked at Enigma's voice command list - it pales in comparison to SH4 now. |

Wow!
I used to love playing SHIII with Shoot. Trigger Maru ready? Slurp!!!!
![]() It sounds like you've taken it to the next level. Can you say "turn to course 180?" Forget it, I read that and more in your post. Yikes!!!! If so I'm afraid I see an extensive download and training session coming up!:p SH3 version in the works? Just wishful thinking.... ![]()

There's no reason this won't work with SH3 right now, hell you can use it with Microsoft Word or Counter-Strike if you want to define the keys. Here's the exceptions: 1. The dial clicking stuff (heading right 90 degrees, rudder left 20 etc) due to them not having the same position or size in SH3. Solution: Edit dials.csv and put in the new coordinates/radius/etc. It's all in the readme. 2. You'd have to update any keys that aren't the same as sh4 in key_commands.csv. 3. You might want to take out any commands that don't exist at all but that's certainly not required. Beyond that, it would work fine. BTW check out the sh4speech 1.6 Voice Command Reference Card *NEW! We're up to 2.1, which has full Trigger Maru support including all of it's custom key changes, awesome support for all dials and knobs and tubes and whatnots in the game.
It's very smart, and can handle 4/6/8/10 tube ship configurations, you can order your men to increase the depth on torpedoes by a specific number of feet, set the spread angle a specific number of degrees, or set a heading change between the full 1-360 degrees and it works great! There are many little adjustments to make it more friendly, such as supporting unlocked command bar, moving the mouse away after clicking a button as to not obscure the view with tooltips, and more. There's actually NO function in the game that is not controllable by voice, to my knowledge, with the exception of one or two minor things you wouldn't want to do with voice anyway (like panning the binocs or using the stadimeter). The install process has been greatly simplified. No more script BS. You just install the MS Speech SDK package (link in readme), unzip sh4speech, and run it! No install whatsoever! If you were holding back, now's a good time to try it out! |
