Default Constant Air attacks

Does anyone else find them as tiresome as I do?

I don't mind getting a few to add to the flavour of the game, but getting constant ones for about 2 or 3 days every time you go anywhere near land seems a bit too much for me. It's just getting annoying now.

Just one man's opinion.

Search planes flew continuallly, out on long race track patterns to and from their base. It's a simple case of charting a course around the bases, and making sure you don't engage any of them. The moment you're seen, the area will be flooded with them for days. If you are going to head towards a base, do it directly to minimise the overlap.

Good point, I'll take that on board.

I don't know what (if any) mods you are running but I have little trouble with planes. I am running 1.3 with 1.5 TM mod (plus a few others). I put a circle around known bases or landfall out to about 600 miles. When I get within this area I usually cruise submerged during the day. With the newest versions, I get plenty of warning by radar so even cruising during the day surfaced is quite possible for speed. From all I've read, a/c were quite troublesome to US subs. Having to dive over 8 times daily was certainly not unheard of for some. Depends on the area I guess. Many convoys in RL also had almost constant air cover. Would be nice to see that modeled.

Yea there pesky alright...

The mods mentioned above do 'adjust' the air traffic a bit and is the way to go.

A stand-alone mod called "reduced air traffic" was made some time ago.
You can do a search for it or check the sticky mods section...
