Who here bothers with this conning tower? I have never used it when I played stock game, but I didn't really see the point of it just for one extra machine gun.

Never had one. Does it look nicer ?
No point in not taking it either if you are not saving for a XXI, though. So, why not ? ![]() |

Are you by chance talking about the /2 for the VIIB?
By the time it is available the Bay of Biscay is a Turkey shoot anyhow, but the rear tower is kinda neat ![]() *cough* make an edit so it's available as a nice kind prototype test a few months earlier from BdU *cough*

Looks very nice, very slick, accurate. I would say best of all, with C30 zwielings (without shields). My current Cobalt C/41 looks quite good too but the wintergarten is unnaturally big, especially with M42 zwieling...

I think the first tower upgrade look rather nice on the VIIC and the IX series. And it helps a little when it's to late to dive.
![]() On a side not however, it seems that although GWX changes the availibility date of the VIIC/2 turmumbau to January 1942 (from 1940 or whatever it was in stock) most sources, including uboat.net are indicating that they actually started to equip boats with the Wintergarten starting in November 1942. :hmm: I'm not sure if the VIIC/3 in Jan. '43 is correct either, haven't survived long enough to use it yet... Personally I have just edited the date in basic.cfg for the VIIC/2 since it seemed more logical that they sought for better ways of fighting off aircrafts by the end of 1942, but maybe that's just me? ![]() |

C/2 has a nicer shape, it looks stronger, more massive and C/1 is like from cardboard
![]() Big screenie of C2 with C30 Flak Zwielings Big screenie of C/41 with C38 Flak Zwielings and M42 Zwieling (my current boat) also my sailors have some additional space in C/2 to take a deeper breath with a cigarette or simply take a leak with the wind ![]() |

Thye might not of sought it quicker. Hitler got invovled in allot of things ar eprobably would rather they carried on perm norm.Bearing in mind they would rather the Flak on the Eastern front, ammo etc. Id rather have a Zweiling on the Easternfront then on a U-Boat.

I like the VIIC/3 tower, but the VIIC/2 generally does not arouse much love from me, usually I would keep the VIIC/1 and then go straight to a VIIC/3
but Im more of a type IX lover. IXC and IXC/40 all the way for me. |

When on a VII/C I go straight for the type 3 tower, so I can fit a Quad Zweiling
![]() But im with Penelope_Grey, in that I prefer the type IX to the type VII (more torpedoes!) |
