Recently, I was taking my trusty porpoise-class out to it's assigned patrol zone, when I intercepted a massive enemy task force in a perect position to attack. I made out at least two battleships among many smaller, but no less threatening, prizes. To make it all even sweeter, I was in about 70 feet of water! "Awesome," I thought, "There's NO WAY I'm going to survive this!". I ordered the crew to take 'er down - and my sub and my PC took a dive at exactly the same time.
I won't bore you with details; suffice to say, I'd been having trouble with my HP for some time. The company has even replaced the MoBo twice, but I'm convinced she's cursed. No worries; HP is sending me a brand-new PC and I managed to boot from a CD and move my data onto a spare drive I have. The new PC will have Vista Home Premium, which I'm not thrilled about, as opposed to the XP Pro I'm used to, but it will also be an upgrade in RAM, processor and drive capacity. Here's my question and dilemma: how do I recover my SH4 so I can pick up right where I left off? I had the 1.3 patch, but I was also using the latest Trigger Maru mod and Captain Midnight's radio mod. Can I just install the game, patch, install my mods, then move the data files over and load my old game? Or is it trickier than that? Does the Vista "upgrade" make it harder? i'd love some advice and/or instruction from any of you who may have gone through this yourselves. Thanks! |
