Radio Contacts - help please

Another question for you SH3 gurus.

When I get a new radio contact, time compression snaps back to (in my case) 1x which is great - but it only happens for contacts within a certain range. Can I increase that range? Because, quite often, I get a report that I could easily have intercepted if time compression hadn't stayed at 1024.

I've had a look through the .cfg files and noted some radio contact distance settings in Contacts.cfg, but they didn't look right. I installed minitweak and tried to use it but wasn't really sure what to do and didn't want to break anything. A little help please?
