You could just wind up in the middle of a convoy surrounded by armed merchants and escorted by 3 Black Swans (OOOOOOOOOOOO i Hate them sooo much) and 1 V&W DD.

That happened to me when i was crusing at 1024 TC in the middle of the western approaches on my way to raid St. James.

Has anyone ever experienced this before, the feeling of O' %$#@ and knowing that only the best U-Boat Captain can get out of this one... Which i did, hahaha

there are good ways to avoid this occurance.

one is to monitor the game for any degradation in performance while running at high time compression. Once you notice the slightest hickup pause the game with the backspace key immediately. resume 1X compression and submerge to 30 meters. almost every time you will encounter some sort of sound contact(s)

Yup, my computer nearly chokes when a large convoy is nearby on 1024x so I don't worry I'll end up like you, emtmedic005.
By the way, how did you get out of that situation? ^^

Well i was o about 250 yards in the middle of the convoy, next to one of the large merchants, I crashed dived and went silent at about 160meters, i the black swans came over me a few times and DCed me like for a few hours it seemed. But they never got me, i got a few hundred yards away from the 2 black swans, went to PD and took them out with my rear torpedos, i awarded my Weapons Officer with the Knights Cross for the excellent firing solutions, i then surfaced and went flank and prayed that the other escorts wouldnt follow. Then i went to my quarters and drank a bottle of scotch.
