Default Wooden Wonder?

Its july 1944 and I'm doing a runner from St naz in my VII/C42,on the surface cause I need speed and there's not alot of depth,I get attacked by 2 mozzie tetsies, the lads open up a can of M42 twin&quad whupass on them and they are eventually dealt withI'm down to 91%hull integrity but so far so good one of the planes hit the sea about 700meters in front of the boat at a hell of a speed in flames,Kaboom!!!!nothing to worry about you'd thought?:hmm: think again I ran over the debris of this WOODEN plane which surely would have been turned into match wood and sustained damage!!!!!!! hull integrity went down to 73%.Now that is taking the piss It gets worse, shot a DD with a homer right on the bow,it didn't seem to phase him much,he just turned away and dropped just one knot, down to 12 then,as he steamed away I shot him in the stern with another homer,Bang he went yet his depth charge racks which are in flame refuse to go off, what a suprise ,he dropped to 9 knots and steamed on for another 3kms,oh and did I mention he did this without the aid of a PROPELLAR,for 3kms,obviously built by the same shipyard that makes the passenger/cargo's no doubt
