firstly if you run flight sim x fine then your hardware should be fine but it would help others if you posted your system specs here

secondly welcome to subsim, hope you enjoy your stay and find it helpful!

do you know what memory your graphics card has? i'm running an x600 128mb and it fails to run the game very well. i have resigned to saving for a better pc.
i also have the same processor and ram.

i think that your graphics card may be the problem, however i believe it is on the supported list
but an fps of 1?? there may be more to this
sorry i cant be of more help

Everything is up to snuff or better. The only dead link here is your vid card. I have a lesser system that runs it just fine.

AMD 3200+ that runs at 2.2ghz
2 gig DDR400 RAM
X1300 XGE 512mb card

I get 22FPS or higher with most of all the goodie checked and sliders half or full.

Seems a bit odd that FS X would run but not SH4, but I'd tend to agree that the video card is probably not up to the task. If you have a 128mb card, it's at the bottom of the minimum specs. Required question: Have you updated your video card drivers?

Your CPU is no problem, 1GB should work oke (2 is a lot better)
The vid. card needs replacing.

Still 1 FPS is far to low.. it must some kind of conflict, driver problem.

Did you try this on a clean install ?

Yes! There were some serious graphical glitches in the game that were fixed in patch 1.2. I assume that you are running SH4 without any patches or were you on 1.2 already?

Second thing you may want to do is run the task manager in Windows to check how much CPU and RAM you're using while running SH4. Maybe it will highlight a bottleneck in your system.

Thirdly, make sure you have Virtual Memory enabled in Windows. So, make sure you have a swapfile on your harddisk of about 1.5 to 2 times your physical RAM (around 1.5 to 2 Gb for you.

The X300 will not be able to handle this game at all. You really need to upgrade that card.

Also, I know this is a noobish reply, but make sure you reboot between install and first run.

If you are comfortable enough doing this...

Go into the bios for your motherboard (usually 'delete' at startup) and look for a setting called PCI Latency. Not every board has this, but if you do make sure it is set to at least 128. This will help boost the time it has on the bus to talk to the cpu. If its not available through the motherboard, go grab ATI Tray Tools, it can force the setting for you, as well as enabling many other tweaks to help your card. One last option would be 'hacked' video drivers. Omega's have been working great on all 4 of my machines, X850XT through crossfired 2900's.

need a minimum of 512 megs on the video card if you want the game to run as smooth as its' supposed to. On top of that, a quick access motherboard designed for games and a multi-core processor wouldn't hurt.
