I might have found a possible dev team bug or a phantom folder from ??. The folder \data\Submarine\NSS_Uboat7c41 and all the files it contains seems to be incorrect or some of the files are not needed. I enabled my smoke mode for VIIc and made a test mission using the VIIc41 and VIIc42 subs and they both had smoke!. Now this NSS_Uboat7c41 folder has a separate .dat and .val file labeled NSS_Uboat7c41.dat and NSS_Uboat7c41.val (which I have not modded to enable smoke). It also has all the other files commonly found in the \data\Submarine folders. It appears that the VIIc/41 and VIIc/42 use the NSS_Uboat7b files. So what's the function/purpose of the NSS_Uboat7b41 folder? I tried this with my smoke mod disabled for VIIc and both the VIIc/41 and VIIc/42 lose their smoke. Anyone got any ideas?
I tried deleting the folder and it caused a CTD. So there are some files that are needed.......time to explore what is needed in that folder. I restored the folder and deleted the NSS_Uboat7b41.dat and NSS_Uboat7b41.val and everything is fine. This is very puzzling to me! ![]() I'll keep deleting files and see what happens...... __________________ |
